Have you ever explored all of Lakeshore Park

Lakeshore park is 185 acres and was founded in 1996. The park is huge and a great place to come if you want to take a nice walk, picnic or explore some fun playgrounds. Lakeshore park has 4 playgrounds all within walking distance of each other.

Huie Woodland Playground at Lakeshore Park

May 8th 2024, Huie Woodland Playground opened!! Who misses the days when you just went outside to play with what was around you? Where you made log steps, tree houses and climbed on big rocks? Well Knoxville’s Lakeshore Park now has this fun new nature- inspired playground your kids will love and will connect your children to nature. Your whole family will enjoy the area.

This playground is definitely hidden. You can’t see it unless you know where to go and what to look for. Your GPS should take your right to it. Just type in “Huie Woodland Playground” There is a small parking lot close to the entrance but if you can’t find parking there, you can see another parking lot up the hill that is pretty big. You do have to walk a very short paved trail to get to the park.

You will definitely want to spray you and the kids down with bug spray before you go play. We had lots of bugs all around us and the first time we went, we had a few bug bites, but the bug spray does help.

You will find a fun a 12 foot slide built into the ground that the kids love to go down, a fun climbing ropes course that kids can balance on. 2 swings to play on, lots of big boulder rocks to climb on and wooden planks all around to balance on. My kids loved the seesaw, treehouse to sit in and fun tree sculptures all around.

If you want to go check out another park right down from Huie Woodland, then walk over to Hank Rappé Playground. The Hank Rappé Playground is a universal playground designed to be inclusive for children of every ability and includes lots of play areas and special equipment. My kids loved the merry go round, the rolling slide and swings!

It is named in memory of Hank Rappé, the son of Dr. Matt and Brandy Rappé, who passed away on April 5, 2013 – two days before his first Knox Youth Sports tee-ball game at Lakeshore Park.

Lakeshore Park has a total of 4 fun playgrounds to see and explore. This is a great place to go play ground park hoping, let the kids ride their bikes or scooter and enjoy a nice family picnic.

A great place to explore, have a picnic, read, play pickle ball, basket ball and enjoy the day!
