Hi friends! My name is Sarah and I am a local Smoky Mountain Mom. I have 2 kids that are 7 and 4. My friend and I haven’t saw each other in what feels like forever so we decided to get together with our kids and hang out. My friend Stephanie has 3 kids, aged 9, 7 and 4. So between 2 moms we had 5 kids with us. We are brave ones but our kids love each other. We have heard about Space Race Adventure before so decided to give this place a try.
We each got the Unlimited Day Pass for me and my 7 year old and Stephanie Got one for her 2 older kids. Our little ones that are both 4 years old got to go in for free due to them not being able to do much of anything except play putt putt or possible ride the go carts.
Space Race Adventure is a newer attraction in Pigeon Forge on the Parkway right in the middle of it all the hustle and bustle. The building use to be known as Blake Jones Racing Center and has transformed into a purple glowing space center.
Putt Putt
This place offers an 18 hole indoor putt putt course with 3 different themes throughout the course. We loved all the different themes such as an underwater lagoon, desert looking theme where we could be on Mars and then a space theme at the end with a storm cloud that all the kids thought was so cool.
Laser Tag
The kids and adults all loved. The room was huge and plenty of room to run around and hide from one another. This room wasn’t that dark as I suspected it to be but was themed as more of a bunker. We had two 3 year olds with us and thankfully, they let them come in with us. They didn’t get strapped in or had a laser gun but they gave them a pretend gun and they loved running around with us having fun.
VR Coaster
VR Coaster was EVERYONE’S FAVORITE thing that they had there. They have a 4 person seater and you wear these VR glasses as you are strapped in as if you were riding a roller coaster. It gives you the full experience of being on the ride. The chair lifts you up in the air and bounces, turns, spins and does everything to make you feel as if you are there. You can even get brave and it will do a 360 spin with you. My daughter who is 7 was scared to do a spin so if you request no 360 that is an option on any of the rides.
They had close to 12 different 3 to 4 minute theme rides. Each one was so different and such a fun and cool experience. If there was no line, he let you stay on and pick another ride. I think the kids stayed on that ride for at least an hour. It was so cool.
VR Experience
VR Experience was something so unique and futuristic. It is pretty simple. You go into a room that has different censors all over the room. You put on a VR headset and get hand controllers. They had a large selection of games to choose from such as a pirate game, underwater, dodgeball, and so many more. Each game had different themes and rules but the cool thing about it was you could see who was around you so you didn’t bump into the other people or walls. Adults, teens and kids love doing this.
Go Karts
Go Karts were outside but covered. We didn’t do this with the kids. We visited in the cold month of January so skipped this but they had it open and running with people having a great time. You had to be at least 12 years old to drive the go cart alone or you can do a double cart with an adult if you are at least 36″ tall .
Recommendation
If you ever want to check out this place you can pay for just one of their attractions if you want to test it out but an unlimited day pass is the way to go. I loved that you could jump around and do different things. They had a lot of variety of games and videos to watch on the VR systems that kept it interesting so.I know this is something we would come back to do.
I would not recommend for ages 7 and under unless you plan to just do putt putt. If they are over 36″ they could be on a double go cart with you, but I didn’t do that so I can’t say much about that. The little ones had fun watching, playing some of the arcade games and eating snacks at the concession but other than that, nothing for them to do.
Food
They did have a very nice and large concession stand. They had plenty of seating and lots of good food to choose from. They had Pizza, nachos, bagged chips, pretzels and drinks and it was priced very fairly.
We had no idea what to expect but ended up being there almost 5 hours and since we didn’t do go carts, I am sure we could have easily done longer so this was a lot of fun for one set price.
I hope this post helped you with deciding if Space Race Adventure would be something your family would like and enjoy!
