Weekend Fun at Slick City Action Park – Brownsburg, Indiana
Over the weekend, my family and I took a fun little trip to Indianapolis. After an amazing time at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, we discovered a super cool spot just outside the city in Brownsburg: Slick City Action Park. None of us had ever seen anything like it!
When we went, Slick City had only been open for a few weeks, and the place was packed. There was even a sign out front saying, “At full capacity – No walk-ins.” Luckily, we were able to book a session online for a couple of hours later. In the meantime, we headed to a nearby playground to wait it out.
We filled out our waivers and bought tickets online, which I highly recommend doing in advance. We arrived about 20 minutes before our scheduled time, only to find a long line stretching out the door. Even though we had done everything online, we still had to wait in line for about 30 minutes—15 minutes past our start time. That part was a little frustrating. Thankfully, the staff extended our session to make up for the delay. Once we reached the front, we were given wristbands, shown how to properly hold the slide mats, and purchased grip socks (those are required and cost $5 each).
Pro tip: Definitely fill out waivers and buy your tickets ahead of time to save yourself a headache—but prepare for a bit of a wait if it’s busy.
Once we got inside and settled in, we found plenty of seating and space to store our things. You can buy a locker, use open cubbies near the restrooms, or just grab a table. Then it was time to explore the park!
We started off on one of the easier slides to help the kids warm up. My 6-year-old daughter was nervous at first, but after that first slide, she was hooked and wanted to try everything. My 4-year-old wasn’t quite ready to tackle the big slides, but he loved the toddler area and played there the entire time.
Our Favorite Slides and Attractions:
-
Avalanche: A super wide slide that lets you bounce side to side on your way down. It’s a blast for all ages.
-
Fast Lane: A white racing slide with fun hills—perfect for challenging friends or siblings.
-
The Dragon (pink slide): This one starts with a steep dip. If you build enough speed, you’ll clear the next hill. If not, you slide backward, which was a surprise but totally fun!
-
Mega Launch (lime green): You go airborne and land safely on an airbag. Easily one of the coolest slides there.
-
Royal Flush (purple): The kids’ favorite! It looks like a giant toilet bowl and spins you around before dropping you out.
-
Big Wave (blue slide): A super steep incline launches you up a ramp before you slide back down—intense and exhilarating!
There were also smaller slides with twists and turns, perfect for getting used to the experience. Besides slides, the park featured a zipline, swinging platforms to jump off, and a basketball court. There was even a party room that would be ideal for birthdays or special gatherings.
Meanwhile, my 4-year-old may not have tackled the big slides, but he had the time of his life in the toddler section. He spent hours on the big twisty slide, the double slide, and climbing through rope structures. He made so many friends and didn’t want to leave!
If you’re in the Indianapolis area—or spot a Slick City Action Park near you—it’s absolutely worth a visit. They’re expanding fast, and I really hope one opens near us soon. Whether your kids are adrenaline junkies or prefer to play in the toddler zone, there’s something for everyone. We’ll definitely be back!
